Pre-Care

  • Avoid excessive sun exposure two weeks before and after your SkinPen® treatment.

  • Cosmetic Injecting clients should leave two weeks between their last cosmetic injecting treatment and SkinPen®.

  • Have your skin prepped on active ingredients up to a month prior to your first treatment.

Post-Care

Your SkinPen treatment includes an aftercare kit to take home. Your therapist will provide full post-treatment instructions.

First 24 hours: Avoid touching the area or applying any products onto the skin (only the take home kit provided by us) for 24 hours to prevent infection.

After 24 hours: After 24 hours, we recommend applying the Rejuvenating Peptide Mask followed by SkinFuse RESCUE Calming Complex which should be applied for the next 5 days to help support the remodelling of the skin. We recommend that you avoid sweaty exercise and sun exposure for 72 hours post-SkinPen®.   Make-up can be worn the morning after your treatment.

After 3 – 7 days:  You can start your regular skin care regimen 3-4 days after your SkinPen® treatment, always wait a week before you begin any Retinol products. Remember to always wear sunscreen.

FAQs

WHO IS NOT SUITABLE FOR SKIN NEEDLING?

Anyone who:

  • Is, or has taken isotretinoin in the past six months 

  • Has cold sores, cystic acne, or any other skin infection 

  • Has tested positive for Hep B, Hep C, or HIV 

  • Has had any laser resurfacing in the last three months 

  • Currently has a bacterial or fungal infection 

  • Has a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring or wound healing problems

  • Has areas of skin that are numb or lack sensation 

  • Has undergone radiation treatment in the last 12 months 

  • Has a history of post-inflammatory pigmentation 

  • If you are unsure, contact our clinic. 

  • Pregnant women - Dr certificate required if you would like to do skin needling whilst pregnant.

How long between treatments?

Procedures are usually spaced 4 weeks apart. Clients usually begin to see the initial results within a week of their first procedure. Radiant skin is apparent as the deeper skin continues its natural healing process.

How many treatments is best?

You’ll see an improvement after one treatment, but the optimal number of treatments depends on the condition you’re seeking to address. Some conditions may require 3 treatments, while others such as scarring require a minimum of 6 treatments. For best value and results, our Skin Journeys™ combine in-clinic treatments with at-home skincare.

IS SKINPEN® SAFE?

SkinPen® Precision is approved by the Therapeutic Goods Administration. The tip of the pen holds a series of tiny surgical steel needles which pierce the skin. This is customised to suit each individuals skin. The needle cartridge is disposable, and the SkinPen® itself is designed to minimize the risk of contamination. CONTRAINDICATIONS


The use of the SkinPen Precision System should not be used on patients who:
• Have active skin cancer in the treatment area(s)
• Have open wounds, sores, or irritated skin in the treatment area(s)
• Have an allergy to stainless steel or anesthetics
• Have a hemorrhagic (bleeding) disorder or hemostatic (bleeding) dysfunction
• Are currently taking drugs with the ingredient isotretinoin (such as Accutane)
• Are pregnant or nursing
